The air at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit is thick with the scent of unburned fuel and hot rubber. After three brutal rounds, the 2026 Malaysia Touring Car Championship has come down to this final weekend. Every apex hit and every late-braking maneuver will dictate who leaves as a champion.
Championships on the Line
Leon Khoo Beng Koon leads Touring Production with 105 points, 22 ahead of Jonathan Xie. In TP2, Chiow Teck Song holds a strong lead with 98 points.
But in the other garages, the margins disappear. Just ten points separate the leaders in MTC, and eight points in MT2-V. The real psychological warfare is in MT2-G. Soon Chew Poh and Aun Yue Wei cling to a microscopic two-point lead over Ng Chong Chin and Freddy Ang.
“Several championships remain wide open. We expect every lap, every position, and every decision to count.”
SIC CEO, Azhan Shafriman Hanif
A Symphony of Steel
The MTCC fights are flanked by the Asia Classic Car Challenge, The Super Series, and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. Beyond the pit wall, a sea of automotive devotion takes over.
The Honda Mega Meet has brought 10,000 enthusiasts to the circuit. Pristine builds and aftermarket showcases crowd the paddock, culminating in a massive Sunday Lap Parade.
The Final Showdown
In the paddock, 160 students get a behind-the-scenes look via Race2Learn@SIC. Nearby, fans scream during high-speed Taxi Rides or battle in the virtual GT7 Hot Laps Challenge.
For those at home, TV Sarawak broadcasts the action live. But the lucky ones are trackside. The Main Grandstand is packed with fans enjoying free admission, while die-hards pace the RM100 paddock lanes.
The engines are revving. The chequered flag is waiting. Welcome to the finale.
